One of my favorite parts of this job is making magical moments happen, even if it sometimes seems to be against all odds. So the day we got a call from The Yes Girls, who are the original wedding proposal planners, asking for our help to re-create the fire lantern scene for a “Tangled” Themed Marriage Proposal, I almost jumped out of my seat in excitement!  One problem though, fire lanterns are illegal in the United States! We all agreed that releasing burning paper lanterns over San Francisco’s city line in the middle of California’s drought was probably not a wise idea anyway.

Leo, the lucky groom-to-be, would not be satisfied with anything less then the perfect moment for his fiancé Yukyung, and that’s where we came in! Our task: Mimic the floating lantern scene from Tangled by staggering HUNDREDS of lanterns at different heights, shapes, and colors in the air around the lawn of the General’s Residence at Fort Mason. Oh and they all need to glow from within, as if they had real fire in them.  No problem right?

It was not a task for the faint of heart, but our team rose to the challenge! Over 6 months of meetings, plans, rigging calculations, watching and re-watching the movie over and over again, trial runs, scrapping previous plans, researching, re-writing new plans, and (only a couple) late nights wondering if it would all come together, and finally the big day came! It took 8 Verducci Event Productions employees almost 10 hours to string up and hang over 700 lanterns, place the l.e.d. flicker candles in each lantern, and then cinch up the lines to be almost 20 feet high in the air.

Despite the obstacles in the way (threatening rain in early morning, and keeping the lanterns hung in gusty winds all day) the team and all of the other vendors really came together to make it happen!

While the final touches were being put into place, Leo arrived nervous and excited about his big moment. Leo said it was “Everything he hoped it would be and more” and the expression on Yukyung’s face (see video below) made it all worth it.

Oh and by the way… She said yes! 😉

The second we heard about the Gay Vanity Wedding Show we knew we had to be a part of it. So we donated all of the lighting for the event and we were so glad that we did! Everyone was so amazing to work with and the whole team had a fantastic time! The Secret Garden Theme in The Bentley Reserve was a spectacular way to transform the space. With the enormous peacock floral pieces, life size statues, stilt walkers and costumed characters, and of course the lighting the whole room became a magical garden. And the models for the bridal dress fashion show were fabulous!

Verducci Event Productions is proud to support the rights of same sex couples everywhere. It’s all about the love people!

A big thank you to Jamie and Fred from Sullivan & Botello Events for inviting us to be a part of this spectacular event, and a big thanks to Misti Layne Photography   for these amazing photos!

Do you wanna build a snowman? How about an ice sculpture instead? Lauren & Daniel got married at Canyon View Dining Hall – San Ramon, CA and had the fantasy disney wedding they always dreamed of! This breath-taking wedding took elements of Disney’s Frozen, and like Elsa breathing life into Olaf the Snowman,  brought something truly spectacular to life!

The two huge families came together as one giant party to celebrate Lauren & Daniel’s commitment to each other. People had so much fun and the room was filled with smiles and laughter. We were so lucky to provide a photo booth, lighting, and our own Andrew Verducci was the DJ for the big day!

A big thanks to Brandt Photography for the lovely photos!

Every once in a while we get to give a little something back, and in January we got to give a little someone the magical Princess Party of their dreams! We were honored to provide our very own DJ Andrew Verducci as well as blue uplights and a photo booth for the event. We were so happy to work with the Make A Wish Foundation, Christina Burns from Bridal Stop & Events, Kurty Photography, and the Marriott of San Mateo to put together a spectacular Princess Party for an adorable little princess.

In December we were so lucky to be a part of a really special program. The Young Life Capernaum Christmas Ball was a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to our community this holiday season, and it gave a bunch of very excited young people with developmental disabilities a chance to come together and celebrate the holidays with each other… and have a blast doing it!

Young Life Capernaum gives young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the chance to experience fun and adventure, to develop fulfilling friendships and to challenge their limits while building self-esteem through club, camp and other exciting activities.

D.J. Josh  has been awarded our D.J. of the month award! All of our D.J.s are SPECTACULAR but in the month of November D.J. Josh has gone above and beyond!

Congratulations D.J. Josh!

DJ Joshua

Also check out this video of the custom facade that DJ Josh created and programmed with a light show where the graphics and the lighting all sync together! We are hoping to debut this in 2015.

Vicky & Steve got married on Saturday September 6th 2014 at the beautiful San Francisco Yacht Club. We were so lucky to provide lighting, pipe and drape, and DJ Andrew for this amazing wedding. This wedding was so special, because this couple really personalized everything so that it was specific to them.

“When we sat down to plan our wedding, we both agreed that our number one goal was for everyone to have a fun and memorable night. We are both avid music lovers, so when we met with Andrew Verducci, we knew he was the one to help bring our vision to life. We had themes for every part of the evening to showcase our eclectic taste in music. For example, cocktail hour hailed “Yacht Rock” music from Hall and Oates to The Doobie Brothers. Dinner was filled with 90′s R&B love songs from Babyface, New Edition, and K-Ci & JoJo, and dancing was Top 40 music with Lil Jon, Pink, and Flo Rida bouncing off the walls all night long. Steven’s groomsman also rapped “Rapper’s Delight” in its entirety, which was one of the highlights of the evening!”

This wedding was featured in Style me Pretty!

During the recession money got tight and Company Holiday Parties were forced to cut back from the lavish extravaganza’s that strived each year to out-do the year before, to pot lucks in some employee’s living room.

(Or worse, no holiday party at all!)

They were sad, lonely, and sometimes hungry years for those of us who work in the event industry.

But now as America is pulling itself out of the recession, companies are slowly and cautiously starting to let the annual bashes start to grow again. Slowly but surely these holiday hoe-downs have finally started to out-shine the holiday parties of years past.

So in celebration of this new found bravery and to encourage some companies who may be a little cautious still we are offering a 20% Winter Season Discount to anyone who books an event with us in the months of December and January.

So now that you have committed to have that Company Holiday Party this year it’s time to design the look and pick a theme! There are any number of amazing Holiday Party looks out there! But where to start? Well here is some inspiration for all of you to consider. Here are a few photos of some of my favorite looks for a traditional Winter Wonderland theme!

Winter Wonderland is an awesome theme, but don’t be afraid to go with a completely different theme! Here are a couple event story boards that I put toghether that I think would make an AWESOME Company Holiday Party

Naughty or Nice

Slide1

This is a really fun theme for the company with the younger age groups. Have a “Naughty” cocktail and a “Nice” cocktail, keep it classy with a red and white modern theme, and let guests decide if they have been Naughty or Nice this year!

Nightmare Before Christmas Holiday Party

Slide1

Missing Halloween already? Looking for a very creative spin on you company holiday party? (Or maybe you want to kill two birds with one stone and combine the company Halloween Party and Christmas party in November!)

Black and Gold Christmas

Slide1

A very modern take on a traditional Christmas theme. Change up the colors! I love the idea of black and gold, but if you can choose any color combo as long as you commit to it!

Circus Holiday Party

Slide1

A fun take on a holiday party! Have carnival games, old timey popcorn carts, stilt walker entertainment, and lots of bright lights!

Masquerade/Carnival Holiday Party

Slide1

A fun and elegant party try a masquerade in Italian Carnival style! Get you co workers to dress up in their best and  wear a mask! Have costumed and masked jugglers for entertainment, feather centerpieces, and fancy food to bring this event together!

These are just a few suggestions, there are so many themes out there that  can really make an event astounding! Use you imagination!

For a little more inspiration check out our Pinterest page for winter holiday parties HERE

Happy Thanksgiving! We hope everyone is having a wonderful time this week eating FAR too much and spending time with people who make them thankful!
